"Being Still" seems like a foreign concept for Moms. Yet it is so important that we practice this discipline. Janey Pitts gives us some great insight on this topic.
Janey Pitts is an author and speaker who has a vivacious spirit and calling to serve the Lord. She encourages and inspires women to become the person God created them to be in their families, relationships, and lives. Janey passionately shares profound biblical truths using her knowledge of first century Biblical culture as well as translating the original Greek and Hebrew languages and puts it all into modern day relevance. Deep and authentic, Janey’s desire is for everyone to reach their full potential in Christ.
She has a Masters Degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and has spoken at various retreats and events. She loves serving with her husband on the staff of New Work Fellowship where she is the Missions Mobilizer. Janey has been married to her husband Cory since 1996, and they have two children together.
In addition to the many accomplishments listed, Janey recently released her book "Deeply Defined".

"The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;"   Psalm 92:12 NIV
We are talking palm trees today — how they are flexible and moms should be too!
"We’re Floridians – we know palm trees, right? We know hurricanes too! And we know that after a hurricane, the live oaks and black olive trees are broken and strewn about, but those palms … they’re still standing after those fierce winds come and go!
I found out that palm trees are not classified as trees scientifically. They have their own specification that’s more closely related to grasses. This is because of the cellular make-up of their trunks – it makes them very different from other trees.
The trunks of palm trees are extremely flexible, even down to their individual cells. One article I read said that their cells are similar to rubber bands, they stretch in order to bend with the wind, but then they have the ability to return to their shape. That’s why palm trees can bend so dramatically in hurricane force winds and not snap when the winds blow in the opposite direction." ~ Nik Greenfield
